Dub-Stuy Records/Sound – Brooklyn based collective representing sound system culture for the 21st century. Through its label, events and other multi-faceted projects, Dub-Stuy has been a driving force behind a steady sound system renaissance in New York City, and North America. Taking inspiration from its 15,000 watt speaker stack, the collective brings together DJs, vocalists, producers, and sound system engineers for a full spectrum representation of the culture. DCSF # 2 will be a celebration of the release of Dub Stuy’s next single featuring a Dubamine remake of Tristan Palmers classic Joker Smoker and featuring a remix with Saule….
Dubamine – Santa Cruz based producer and selector with a dub influenced take on dubstep. Featuring many samples of roots reggae classics his music is a meeting of the future and oldschool sounds of dub. With many digital releases and now 2 vinyl releases on the Dub Stuy label he is making a name for himself around the world…
Saule – San Francisco’s up and coming dubstep prodigy. With sparse, heavy, and original productions Saule mashes up the dance without fail. His music is featured on well received releases from Joe Nice’s Gourmet Beats Label, San Francisco’s Dubs Alive and now Dub Stuy Records.
Grime City SFO DJs – Dubsworth & SUPA – The original grime UKG dubstep and bass music dons have been holding regular parties in SF for more than 10 years… On the 6th, two of the core members Dubsworth (a serious producer and musician in his own right) & Supa will be throwing down DJ sets bringing their vast knowledge of bass music, grime and beyond to the table…
DJ Sep – DJ Sep is the founder, promoter, and main resident DJ at Dub Mission, one of the longest-running dub parties in the world. Her selections and productions span the fullness of reggae music from foundation to dancehall to future dub and beyond.
Arkaingelle – Hailing from Guyana, Arkaingelle is a talented chanter whose music has a depth of lyrics and warmth of spirit…. His 2008 album O’Pen is a modern roots classic and he has a wealth of new music coming soon from Inner Standing, Sista Habesha, Greensphere and Zion High. After the spring 2016 seven date Inner Standing Arkaingelle European Tour his Sound System performance is tighter than ever and a joy to experience…
Ras-Amlak – Ras-Amlak is a multitalented Rastafari artist whose paintings and vocals express a depth of perspective and heights of meditation… As a chanter Ras Amlak has been Inner Standing Sounds primary mic man for years and has recorded a series of sought after dubplates from producers Brizion, RAZ-Tek Roots, King Alpha, Jah Sonic, Violinbwoy and more…
Inner Standing Sound System – Inner Standing plays well tuned & heavily amplified reggae and dub to uplift the body, mind, and soul. The custom heavyweight sound system located in Oakland CA has held regular parties in the Bay Area and around Northern California for the last 4 years. Also reaching out internationally Inner Standing’s first release, and dubplate productions, have been played heavily by Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti, Channel One and more, and through European sound system tours, the last 2 years, they have brought their special style of dub strait to the people.
This party will also be a video shoot for the next vinyl release Mek We Build/Vibes Wise with Arkaingelle chanting on a Riddim by I David and Ras Amlak on one by Buriman – moa anbessa studio. The tunes and video are testaments to the powers of vibes (vibrations) as expressed through the channel of dubwise reggae music and sound system…. Please come forward and participate in the archiving of this historic performance and gathering!!!!
