It should be noted, there are many more effects pedals on stage at a Drawing Heaven show than band members. That's because the local four-piece indie rock band loves experimenting with sounds just as much as they do with mood and dynamics. The post-rock outfit moves from explosions of fuzzed to hushed and ambient reverie--always steering clear of obvious verse-chorus-verse structure, and instead riding an arc that rises and falls like the ocean, with sections that build one on top of the other. Led by the always talented ex-Klank guitarist Dan Ohh, the foursome let their guitars do the heavy-lifting--bringing a heaviness that only ex-metal/industrial dudes could. (AC)
