As part of its Summer Artist-In-Residence programing, the Scrawl Center for Drawing will host a special event on July 22nd called Drawing Breath, an evening of presentations and an interactive drawing exercise. For this event, artist Sarah Thibault will present wall drawings as the first layer of her frieze installation, along with a limited edition artist book called "SBD (silent but deadly)" that features a short story and drawings made during this residency. Artist Nicole Markoff will present a guided meditation where participants will learn to use the breath as a drawing tool, followed by a lecture on karma. She will consider misconceptions about the concept, while contextualizing it with nondual traditions that decentralize karma from the self towards a greater cosmic highway.
