DR. MOJO (** FREEE SHOW! **) *Second Wednesday of Every Month*

SEE EVENT DETAILS
*Second Wednesday of Every Month* FREEE SHOW! Starring: *DR. MOJO* with: many Special Guest stars

DR. MOJO Dr. Mojo draw inspiration from groove-oriented music from 60s soul, to 70s R&B, Funk, New Orleans Swamp Rock, to modern R&B and Blues. While Dr. Mojo mix originals and classic songs, the music they create is always unmistakably their own, with a groove you can’t ignore and an improvisational style that feeds off the energy of the audience. When this band takes off and the audience go with them no-one – least of all the band – knows exactly where it will go… but their evident musicianship and chemistry, and the sheer fun they have making music together, energize the whole room. On lead vocals is Nicole Penny, a young singer with an improvisational style and the vocal chops to easily tackle classic R&B numbers. Bay area stalwart Gerry Della Bona (Huey Lewis, touring supporting Steppenwolf) mixes Hammond organ with early 80s MemoryMoog synth for some cool textures and sequenced palettes. Bassist Pierre Allard has extensive recording and producing experience from his native Montreal to Los Angeles, including anchoring chart-topping songs. Pierre has played a wide range of material from jazz to rock, but his heart is in groove-oriented music, the phatter the better. Richard Southwick on guitar sometimes shows his roots in jazz horn playing in his improvisations, so meshes well with the other band members’ style, and Dominic Haigh, who has sat in the drum seat for Dr. Mojo for 11 years and over 300 shows, keeps the train on the tracks and driving hard.
