Do Good Lab 2013 Kick-Off Party

Local Volunteer Group Celebrates Success in Funding Sustainable Projects Abroad

San Francisco, CA - April 4, 2013. Do Good Lab will host an event to celebrate the accomplishments of 2012 and invite the public to learn more about the organization. The event will introduce a new executive team and announce goals for 2013. It is free, open to the general public, and will take place Thursday evening, April 4th, from 6:30-9:00pm at Dear Mom located at 2700 16th Street in San Francisco’s Mission District.

This event is a celebration for volunteers and donors as well as a kickoff for the year ahead. It is an opportunity to learn more about Do Good Lab and meet those involved in its operation. Executive Director Aezed Raza will announce the focus for 2013 on sustainable solutions in three topical areas: Education, health, and agriculture. Molly Brennan and Shannon Radsky will announce local progress on the projects successfully funded in 2012.

Last year, Do Good Lab raised over $30,000 to fund sustainability projects in Malawi, Togo, and Kenya. Do Good Lab partnered with Ecofinder Kenya, Global Hope Mobilization (GLOHOMO), and Action et Initiative pour le Developpement Sanitaire et Sociale (AIDSS) to provide clean water to disenfranchised communities in Africa, including children and people suffering from HIV/AIDS.

Do Good Lab strongly believes that people in developing countries know best what needs to be done to improve their living conditions. The organization supports locally planned and managed projects in developing countries to ensure the commitment of the community to complete and sustain the project. Do Good Lab was created in 2009 with the passion and energy of a group of friends in San Francisco, California. Coming from diverse backgrounds and cultures, the organization shares a desire to think globally while acting locally.
