At one point, Julio Galvez, a.k.a. DJ The Whooligan, had what has got to be the ideal DJ day job--he worked at Amoeba Records in San Francisco, which afforded him the opportunity to do some serious crate digging. He spins an eclectic array of styles (house, electro, hip-hop, psych-dance) and has opened up for big-name performers like Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Lil Jon, Kings of Leon and Kid Sister. These days he's a part of the Soulection team (a cutting-edge dance label and collective based out of L.A.). In addition to his work as a DJ, he co-founded the electro-soul group 40Love.
