DJ Logic DJ LOGIC and his role as an electronic-music ambassador keeps him at the top of his game. Whether the scratch artist instructs tablas to flirt with drum ‘n’ bass (such as on his NINA SIMONE and BILLY HOLIDAY remixes found on Sony Legacy’s Remixed and Reimagined volumes) , or while meshing free styling MC’s with Afro-Cuban rhythms (such as on ‘Share Worldwide Funk’ – a remix produced for JACK DeJOHNETTE and Golden Beams Collected, Volume 1 ) , LOGIC can always be found paying homage to his predecessors while contributing his vision to the deejay genre. While the context of his work may vary, DJ LOGIC’S spinning skills are definitely beyond reproach. He works with a phenomenal roster of invited guests, and he knows how to pick his collaborators as well as his samples. With a growing catalogue of recordings under his belt, DJ LOGIC’S supreme musicianship and catholic tastes will allow him to journey wherever an infectious groove may take him. John Staten This funky drummer is sure to bring the heat, as he has in the past with projects such as Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and more currently, the Pimps of Joytime. The entirety of John’s work is truly outstanding, as he continues to collaborate with projects within the funk and jam genre. Brian Jordan Brian Jordan has graced the stage and been featured with many legendary musicians, including James Brown, Bernie Worrell, Ray Manzerik, Buddy Miles, George Porter, Jr., Chris Frantz, Ms. Lauryn Hill, The Allman Brothers Band, and many more. As well, Brian played guitar for 12 + years in the touring machine, “Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe”. Very open ears and deep appreciation of music has paved the way for another uniquely American musical force! Wil Blades Over the past fifteen years, Blades has grown to be one of the most in-demand organ players on the Bay Area scene. In addition to leading his own trio, he works regularly in duo situations with drummers Billy Martin (Medeski Martin and Wood) and Scott Amendola (Nels Cline Singers); and in trios led by guitarist Will Bernard and drummer Stanton Moore. He’s performed and recorded with a host of jazz and blues greats including Melvin Sparks, Idris Muhammad, Joe Louis Walker, Don Braden, Donald Harrison, Nicholas Payton, Karl Denson, Charlie Hunter, Jason Marsalis, Herlin Riley, and many others. Victor Little LIFE’S A GROOVE is a concept founded by artist and bassist Victor Little, whose vision is to unite people together through music and to create a musical journey for the listening audience that will transport them to all parts of the world, enabling them to experience the sounds of sophisticated music performed with feeling and intellect. Victor is passionate about creating and playing music for a living, and has demonstrated his commitment by writing, producing, consulting, recording and performing original music in a career that has spanned over 20 years. “I’ve been blessed to collaborate with some of the most talented musicians and play on some of the most prestigious stages with world class artists and performers” says Victor, whose resume contains a long list of luminaries that includes Patti Austin, Billy Preston, Angela Bofill, James Carter, Charlie Musselwhite, and Booker T. Jones to name a few. Tommy Odetto Tommy Odetto picked up the guitar at 13 and was immediately obsessed. His inspiration came from the likes of Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and many others . A fifth-generation native of Fairfax, CA – an area known for a diverse and rich music scene – teenage Odetto was known for sneaking into clubs to watch his favorite musicians like Danny Uzilevsky,Tom Finch and others play.
