THE DJ ARTS ACADEMY



OUR MISSION
The DJ Arts Academy provides a 
well-rounded education for beginners, 
hobbyists, and those turning to DJing as 
a new or second career.  We teach students 
of all ages and experience levels by delivering 
structured lesson plans, hands-on training, 
live demonstrations, and access to 
state of the art equipment in a 
fun and positive atmosphere.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
The DJ Arts Academy supplies all the 
equipment that you'll need for class including 
turntables/CD players, mixer, needles, speakers, 
records, headphones, and a soundsystem. 
We ask all students to bring a notebook, 
a pen or pencil, and music that they enjoy. 
For all students taking the Digital DJ 1 or 2 
classes, we have a computer for you to use, 
but feel free to bring in your own laptops.



WHAT WE OFFER

DJ classes are one on one: Our unrivaled

personal attention will get you mixing in no time.

 

We teach you how to DJ with any style you choose- vinyl

records, CDs, or Serato Scratch Live.

 

Our faculty is extremely experienced and knowledgeable

in all aspects of DJing including 
mixtape, club, radio, battle, and mobile DJing.

 

Learn to mix many different genres including

HipHop, House, Electro, Top 40, Funk, Reggae, 
Salsa, Soul, RnB, and more

 

Lessons are hand tailored for each student:

This ensures that our students learn exactly what

they need  to achieve their DJ goals.

 

Once you are enrolled in a class, head to the main

campus for FREE practice sessions.  Use 
our equipment outside of regular class times to practice

and improve your skills.  Contact a customer service

representative for more information.

 

Why be like every other DJ?  We guide our students to

develop personal styles in DJing 
and mixing, while sharing their individual taste in

music for crowds.

 

Complete any package of classes and you

automatically quallify to create your own

professionally recorded demo.

We record your DJ mix in a state of

the art studio and you will have a resume to get gigs.

 

DJs that copmlete the Platinum package will perform live

for crowds at the Mercury Lounge in San Francisco and one

other San Francisco hot spot.

open Mon thru Fri 9am - 9pm &

LEARN TO DJ WITH RECORDS OR CDs
DJ LEVEL 1
INRTODUCTION TO DJ FUNDAMENTALS - $350

4 week course 
No DJ experience is necessary. 
This class is the perfect start for beginner 
students that want to learn the basics. 
This course explores fundamental topics.

At the end of this class you will have a solid foundation

in basic mixing, blending, and beat matching.

Please bring any music that you enjoy! 
Each class meets once a week for 90 minutes.

DJ LEVEL 2
INTERMEDIATE MIXING/DEMO PROJECT - $350

4 week course

Designed for those who have completed Level 1 
or for those who already understand 
all of the DJ fundamentals and basics. 
This course emphasizes the improvement 
of your beat matching, mixing, and blending. 
At the end of this class you will have aquired skills to

perform “clean” mixes and you will have completed 
the process of putting together a demo mix. 
Please bring any music that you dig! 
Each class meets once a week for 90 minutes.

DJ LEVEL 3
INTERMEDIATE SCRATHCHING - $350

4 week course

This course is for those that want to learn 
how to put together a battle set, incorporate 
scratching into their mixing, or that simply want 
to learn how to scratch.  It will focus on the 
fundamentals of DJing with an emphasis on the 
timing and delivery of scratching. 
Please bring some music that you like! 
Each class is 90 minutes long.

DIGITAL DJ - DJ WITH SERATO SOFTWARE
 

DIGITAL DJ 1
INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL DJ'ing - $450

4 week course

No musical experience is necessary. 
This course is for those that want a crash course 
in digital dj'ing.  This teaches the basics of 
the Rane Serato software and is intended for 
those who want to start learning Rane Serato and 
for those who want to test the waters of

DJ'ing digitally. 

All equipment is provided for you. 
Please bring some music that you love. 
Each class is 90 minutes long.

DIGITAL DJ 2
INTERMEDIATE DIGITAL DJ'ing - $450

4 week course

In order to enroll in this course, you must have 
completed the Digital DJ 1 course or prove a basic 
understanding of the Serato software. This course 
teaches students how to use the software tools 
to improve their mixing and music sets. At the 
end of this course, students will be prepared to 
perform at gigs and clubs, and will have a 
chance to perform at a San Francisco venue for 
a live crowd! 
All equipment is provided for you. 
Please bring some music that you love. 
Each class is 90 minutes long.

SPECIAL DJ PACKAGES

 

DJ PLATINUM PACKAGE - $1400  (SAVE $350)
DJ Level 1, DJ Level 2, Digital DJ 1, Digital DJ 2

8 week program - meets twice every week for 1.5 hours

This class covers all material from DJ Level 1 & 2 and

Digital 1 & 2.  It will take you from a beginner to

performing for a crowd at a couple of great San Francisco

venues. The complete DJ experience...

 

 

DJ GOLD PACKAGE - $675 (SAVE $100)
DJ Level 1, DJ Level 2

8 week program that meets once a week for 1.5 hrs. -OR-

4 week program - meets twice every week for 1.5 hours

This program is geared towards students that want to learn how to

mix on turntables or CD players.  It covers the

fundamentals of DJing including basic and intermediate

mixing, blending, and scratching techniques.  At the end of this

package, you will have learned intermediate mixing techniques

and how to put together your own demo CD.

 

DJ BOOTCAMPS
Bootcamps are designed for

people who have a limited amount

of time to learn how to DJ or for people that just

want to try & learn in a condensed 
amount of time.

 

BOOTCAMP - $600 (1 hrs. free)
Learn all material from the Gold DJ Package

in only 2 consecutive days. Each class is 6.5 hrs. plus a 1 hr.

lunch break.
