“Green Growth, Smart Growth: A New Approach to Economics, Innovation, and the Environment”
We find ourselves at a crossroad between environmental disaster and a new industrial revolution.
Decoupling economic growth from environmental consumption is an ambitious goal, but also an achievable one. In his new book "Green Growth, Smart Growth", Ralf Fuecks outlines a way forward in this great transformation, and does so in the conviction that the dangers posed by climate change can be overcome through a new approach to economics, innovation, and proactive policymaking.
Ralf Fuecks has been a member of the Executive Board of the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation since 1996. The primary focus of his work is sustainable development and a green economy, the future of European integration, and foreign policy. Within the Foundation, he is responsible for domestic political education, Europe and North America, as well as German-Israeli relations. Mr. Fuecks joined the Green Party in 1982. In 1985, he was elected to the Bremen State Parliament. He served as Co-President for the national Green Party in 1989/90. He returned to regional politics in Bremen in 1991, serving as Deputy Mayor and as Senator for Urban Development and Environmental Protection. As a member of the Green Party’s Program Commission, he co-authored the new party program, which was adopted in 2002. He is a regular contributor to numerous newspapers and political periodicals and co-author of several books.
