Rock & roll has lasted as long as it has because of its unruly attitude and pulsating sexual power. Dig the Kid, a Bay Area/L.A. trio understand this, and don't attempt to hide it one bit. They fiddle around with different subgenres of rock music from the '70s and '80s: garage, glam-metal, power-pop, arena rock. What links it all together is the spirit of rebellion and fun (which seems to never go out of style). It's a whole lot of meaty guitar riffs, driving drums, sugary sweet vocal hooks and chugging bass lines. These guys aren't reinventing the rock & roll wheel, but they are having a good time and bringing a lot of energy to it. (Aaron Carnes)
