Desire: A Healthy Perspective

SEE EVENT DETAILS
We do what we wish to do, which makes our desires a driving force in our daily life. Since our desires are so powerful, it’s vital to understand where they come from and where they’re leading us.

If we check we shall see that or desires are countless. We want the very best of everything ― the best car, the best partner, the best house, the best job ― but how often do we get what we want? Even when do get what we want, do we feel completely satisfied, or do we just want more? How can we use our desires to bring a more lasting happiness?

Modern Buddhist Monk Gen Kelsang Jampa will lead a public talk to address these questions and offer practical ways to use desire as a tool to increase our happiness. His natural warmth and kindness will have you walking away with a smile. The public talk will include:

• A guided meditation.
• A talk offering a perspective and tools to understand, work with and transform our
desires into a meaningful way of living.
• Time after the talk for discussion and socializing

Gen Kelsang Jampa is an American Buddhist monk and the Eastern US National Spiritual Director for the New Kadampa Tradition. “Desire: A Healthy Perspective”, public talk will be at 3543 18th Street, San Francisco 94110, the Women's Building in San Francisco on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 7:00 – 8:30pm.
