Come early to enjoy the museum and take your seat in the Koret Auditorium at 6pm.
This is our very popular annual artist lecture series, where you get a sneak preview of some of the many notable art projects in progress right now for Burning Man 2013. You'll hear from artists who are creating revolutionary works of art, often in radically collaborative ways. Some have been creating work for the inhospitable tabula rasa of the Black Rock Desert in Nevada for many years and will be sharing war stories. This is also the perfect opportunity to learn how YOU can get involved and support these and other artists at the Burning Man event and year-round—as we increasingly seek to place interactive, collaborative and community-generating works of art in cities around the world!
Each speaker will have approximately 10 minutes, so please arrive on time. This event is free and part of the free Friday Nights at the de Young series.

Also arrive early at the de Young and enjoy Urbanauts, a wonderful artist collaboration between Sean Orlando and Rebar, hosted by the de Young and supported by the Black Rock Arts Foundation and the James Irvine Foundation.
