Wayne Wallace, a two-time Grammy nominee, is one of the leading performers in Latin jazz today. His accomplishments as a composer, trombonist, and educator, loom large on the Bay Area music scene and beyond. As a sideman, he has worked with a variety of international stars that range from Aretha Franklin, Steve Winwood, Santana and Earth Wind & Fire. But Wallace’s Latin Jazz Quintet is his special labor of love and where his musical soul resides. His quintet features the talents of Murray Low – keyboards; Dave Belove – electric bass; Colin Douglas – drums and Michael Spiro – percussion. His latest album, Latin Jazz-Jazz Latin, was nominated at the 2014 Grammy awards for Best Latin Jazz Album of the Year.
