Music Director Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg and New Century Chamber Orchestra conclude the 2015-2016 season with a program of works from and inspired by the world of dance. The evening showcases Stravinsky's seldom heard, neo-Classical ballet Apollon musagete, a work based on Greek mythology and the composer's first composition for string orchestra. Completing the program is Dance of the Seven Veils from Strauss' Salome, Khachaturian's Sabre Dance and the world premiere of a commissioned dance suite by Pulitzer Prize-winning Featured Composer Jennifer Higdon.
