Deep Crates presents Jeno and Bones

SEE EVENT DETAILS
We don't normally make a big deal about being an all-vinyl party, but when one of the world's best DJs who hasn't played his records out in many full moons says he'll break out the wax for your night, we think it's pretty damn special. Deep Crates is honored to have Jeno join us for a night of musical insanity. And we're bringing in an old school SF DJ, Bones! You don't want to miss this night.

When you hear Jeno's name, many things can come to mind - probably first of all is Wicked, followed by Noise from the Void, CULT, Bang the Drum, full moon parties, acid house, Rise, United DJs of America, and Inside the Mind. Jeno was born in London in the mid-sixties, being influenced early on by his mum's far out record collection. He was in a punk band for five years before diving into London's warehouse scene in the mid-eighties. It was there he started playing gigs, including his own Whoosh parties. Jeno moved to SF in 91, where he, Garth, Thomas, and Markie started Wicked and their Full Moon parties. They then bought a 1947 Greyhound bus and toured with their own turbosound rig. His mixtapes are some of the most loved in the scene, Rise, Inside the Mind, Bang the Drum, Inspiration, and Soul Creation. Throughout the years Jeno got to play at clubs all around the world, including Ministry of Sound in London, Rex Club in Paris, and Twilo in NY. In 1997, he mixed the United DJs of America Vol 7, on DMC. Jeno has also remixed Garth's Twenty Minutes of Disco Glory, Rocket - People, and Nigel Hayes - Que Pasa. Eight years ago he started Noise from the Void, a weekly internet radio show broadcast on 90hz.org. Every Tuesday from 9pm til 2, 3, or 4 in the morning, he spins live for the world to enjoy.
Wicked's 22nd anniversary party is July 6th, then two weeks later he joins us at Deep Crates for a special 2 and 1/2 hour all vinyl set. We can't wait to hear what our friend has in store for all of us.

Bones grew up in Brighton, UK. It was the 70s and by the age of 10 he was playing records and making mixtapes using his dad's tape player and radiogram, an old school record player. He became an avid collector of rare and unusual vinyl. In 86 he got a chance to play records at his friend's weekly gig for the Brighton Polytechnic kids. It went off without a hitch and he then knew what he wanted to do in "Thatcher's Land". He left Brighton for London, and played at Travellers parties. Then in 91 he came to SF, playing his first tunes at The Top. Bones went on to work with Wicked and the Full Moon Massive,Toon town, Rave called Sharon, Gathering, Come-Unity, Stompy, DeepSj, and Narnia Hardkiss. He currently makes music under the name I Scream Man. He told us "Music is my Life source, without it I would wither and Fail.....Bless the music."

Only $5, and free before 10pm
