Jazz in the Neighborhood is proud to present Dee Bell & the Marcos Silva Trio. Dee Bell on vocals, Marcos Silva on piano, Phil Thompson on drums, Scott Thompson on bass. Dee Bell floats her sultry swing vocals over the ebullient Brazilian rhythms of the Marcos Silva Trio in a subtle new yin and yang blend of both worlds that features Silva's arrangements of Tin Pan Alley Standards, Abbey Lincoln's bluesy jazz originals and contemporary classics from Joni Mitchell and Neil Young. Their new CD, Silva.Bell.Elation, was released in early 2014.
Emerging Artist is saxophonist Madison Bohrer. Madison is a talented saxophone player and student of Marcos Silva at the Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley. He has his own sound but has obviously listened to all of the greats.
