Grass skirts, palm trees, tropical breezes and snowmen???? That's right! This year’s fun-filled, zany dance-along concert will take the audience on a musical excursion to a tropical paradise – so grab your tutu and your lei – we’re heading to the islands for Frosty's Hawaiian Holiday!
Hailed as “Best Bets for Holiday Dance” by the SF Chronicle, the Dance-Along Nutcracker® is one of San Francisco’s most endeared holiday events! For 29 years, the Dance-Along Nutcracker® has been bringing together the community with a show that takes children, families, couples and singles on a magical holiday journey.
Celebrate the holidays “island style." Join Clara, Fritz and the entire Stahlbaum clan on the snow-white sands of Hawaii as their holiday escapade takes them in search of Frosty the Snowman….in the tropical sun! Once Uncle Drosselmeyer’s magical gifts are turned loose, it’s up to the kids to save the day. Full of impromptu delight and hilarious surprises, Frosty's Hawaiian Holiday is a must-see for even the most demure white kukui blossoms!
Frosty's Hawaiian Holiday stars Joe Wicht (aka Trauma Flintstone) as Uncle Drosselmeyer; Flynn DeMarco as Mr. Stahlbaum, and Kathy Hennig as Mrs. Stahlbaum. Doing double-duty, Flynn DeMarco will also direct the cast, and Carolyn Carvajal returns to choreograph the featured dances. Frosty's Hawaiian Holiday was created and written by Joan Bonacich. Artistic Director Pete Nowlen will conduct the band as it plays a blend of island favorites along with classics from Tchaikovsky’s treasured Nutcracker.
Offering three family-friendly matinees and an evening Gala show for adults only, Frosty's Hawaiian Holiday can accommodate everyone's holiday schedules. Bring the kids to a daytime show or treat yourself to the Evening Gala, and enjoy one of San Francisco’s most beloved and unique holiday traditions.
So Sugar Plum wannabes, pull on your tutus because everyone’s a Prima Ballerina at the Dance-Along Nutcracker®, where you boogie to the beat of your own ballet. Bring your best hula moves; as melodic island spirit fills the air, you’ll be wishing everyone a Mele Kalikimaka in no time.
