Cypress String Quartet Presents their 2015 Call & Response Program

The Cypress Quartet's 2015 Call & Response program will feature the world premiere of award-winning French composer Philippe Hersant's String Quartet No. 4. Hersant's new work will be performed alongside the two "night" themed works that inspired it: Bartok's String Quartet No. 4 and Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 59 No. 2.
Through its signature Call & Response program the Cypress Quartet commissions and premieres new string quartets from both emerging and celebrated composers, asking them to write in response to established chamber repertoire. Call & Response creates a dynamic dialogue between the past and present, between performers and composers, and among audiences of all ages.
