There's one inherent necessity in the name Creedence Clearwater you-fill-in-the-blank. Revival, Revisted- whichever, you're going to need one guy, and one guy only: John Fogerty. The reasons are pretty straightforward: he wrote all the music and he sang all the songs. Unfortunately, when former CCR (the original one) bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug 'Cosmo' Clifford teamed up to form their band, Fogerty, for a myriad of reasons, was unavailable for audition. At the time of the band's inception circa 1995, Fogerty's absence made sense, at least theoretically, because he was hiding under the artists' rock and hadn't made a ripple on the scene in years. But a few years later, Fogerty returned to the stage and has been touring with his own band since, rendering CCRevisisted as obsolete as a 56K modem. Don't worry though; they'll play all the hits with dial-up like efficacy.
