Finishing Touches

Choosing the right accessories can make or break an outfit. At Covet, a jewelry and accessory boutique, you can find and personalize pieces that add the perfect finishing touches and express your individuality. Lengthen a necklace chain for that flapper dress or add additional Swarovski crystals to add sparkle to your black ensemble. Covet’s two designers are on site and offer customizations for much of their jewelry collections.

The two founding designers of Covet, Adrienne Lee Wiley and Liza Anongchanya, work out of their Inner Richmond design studio that doubles as a retail space. The second location in Hayes Valley recently opened in March. Both locations offer similar selections.

Adrienne launched her Frolick line in 2005. Today, the vintage-inspired line is available in over 200 boutiques. She employs rich hues with charming details; there are delicate necklaces and earrings featuring cloisonné leaves or gold hot air balloons that hang with a bevy of colored stones. Necklaces start at $65, and earrings at $35. My Frolick favorites include the cameo rings ($35) with butterflies or portraits that rise from the facets.

Liza oversees her personal Ofina collection, which reflects simple bohemian designs. Gold or silver feathered earrings ($36-$42) are one way to take off or bring attention to your face. Best sellers include her multi-stranded necklaces that are strewn with Swarovski crystals and semi-precious stones.

Both Adrienne and Liza showcase other designers’ works at Covet to round out their own collections. De La Luna Designs provides electric clutch wallets ($59) in vibrant patterns. Fabrics are cut to showcase birds, flowers or butterflies. In contrast, Shara Porter hand prints her designs on small leather goods. Crisp images of bikes and porcupines adorn billfold wallets ($40).

A perfect place to stash these handmade wallets is in one of Lulla Bella’s handbags. They come in varying sizes, shapes, and colors. Belmira Pinto, a longtime San Francisco resident, is the creative force behind the purses, which compliment everyday wardrobes. Consider a black shoulder bag ($128) with a pouch that saves you from rummaging for that lipstick or compact mirror when you need it most.

There are so many accessories to consider when completing a look. A necklace can bring attention to your visage and serve an aesthetic purpose. Alternately, the right handbag can keep your life in order and serve a functional need. Either way, make sure that the next time you are in Inner Richmond or Hayes Valley, to stop by Covet. There are myriad designs to liven up your wardrobe with just the right finishing touches.
