Conversation – A Photography Exhibit at Bucci’s in Emeryville – Features 25 Bay Area Photographers
Photographers create an exhibit with the theme of a “visual only” conversation
Photographs by twenty-five members of the Bay Area Photographers Collective (BAPC) will be exhibited as, “Conversation.” The theme was created with a structure that included only a visual response from one photo to the next with no curating, editing or verbal communication. The photography exhibition will be shown at Bucci’s in Emeryville from October 4 through October 31. The public is invited to the Opening Reception on October 9.
BAPC member Barbara Kyne discussing the exhibit, “Like all conversations, this one moved in many directions, at times circuitous or repetitious, emotionally moving, humorous and sometimes inexplicable. The juxtapositions range from visual to conceptual and literal to metaphorical or transformative. The connections made are as expressive as the images themselves.”
“Ultimately the conversation evokes the mystery of everyday life. Tangled in sheets, flying through the air, up the hill with plastic flamingo friends – even the cows have attitude. In the vast ancient landscape or the dense urban environment, without words, we have a deeply complex and satisfying conversation,” said Kyne.
