“Throughout his 34-year career, Dr. Koo has been instrumental in improving the lives of millions of people living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis,” said Dr. Bruce Wintroub, NPF Gala chair and interim dean of medicine at UCSF. “Aside from his exemplary patient care, he’s dedicated himself to research into psoriasis and other chronic skin conditions. We’re thrilled to honor his commitment to psoriatic disease.”
In addition to his clinical work, Koo has produced more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and was editor-in-chief for the most widely referenced psoriasis textbook in over a decade. He received his medical degree from Harvard University Medical School, where he was a Harvard National Scholar.
