Description
Now in its 10th hysterical year, Comedy Night at the Geary has become one of the most popular comedy events in San Francisco. Held at the historic Geary Theater in Union Square, Comedy Night brings out a brilliant "who's who" of the funniest entertainers around: past performers have included Robin Williams, Will Durst, Mark Lundholm, Greg Proops, Mark Pita, Jim Short, Jake Johannsen-the list and the laughs keep getting bigger.
The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with a pre-show cocktail party in the lower level lounge of the Geary Theater. Mix and mingle while enjoying spirits (no-host) and delectable treats, provided by Angelina's. At 8 p.m. sharp our featured comedians take the stage for an evening of uncontrollable laughter. This year’s talent includes the Bay Area’s famed sketch comedy troupe Killing My Lobster!*

Comedy Night at the Geary, sponsored this year by Jean & James E. Douglas, Jr. and Macy's West, is the annual fundraiser for the ACT One Scholarship Fund. This scholarship goes to one student in the A.C.T. Master of Fine Arts Program, fully funding his or her education for the program's full three years. ACT One 2002 scholarship recipient Allison Jean White will graduate from the program in May, after performing on the Geary stage in The Real Thing and A Christmas Carol. A member of the M.F.A. Class of 2008 will soon be announced as the next recipient.
