Comment… will be hosting a Happy Hour for the closing of its inaugural exhibition, COMING SOON. The evening will mark the finale of Hadar Kleiman’s solo exhibit showcasing her garishly uncanny world saturated in Fake-ism.
There will be a reading from segments of Robert Venturi's book "Learning from Las Vegas.” This book served as fundamental to Hadar’s research and fascination with Las Vegas, a key component to understanding the infrastructure of COMING SOON.
Fabricated in awe of the sumptuous lure, decadent glamour, and seductive artificiality that the late capitalist system cleverly parcels, “COMING SOON” constructs a landscape cloaked in deceptive semblance. Through her use of quotidian building materials, such as concrete, clay and wood, Hadar installs an environment dressed in playful trickery to evoke the lavish. “COMING SOON” parodies an iconic representation of wealth and class to signify a reality layered with pretense.
Hadar P. Kleiman is currently based in San Francisco. Originally from Jerusalem, Hadar P. Kleiman received her BFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in 2013. She recently graduated from San Francisco Art Institute, where her focus was in sculpture.
