Christopher Boa’s Liquid Lounge Christopher Boa brings together some of the bay areas finest funk and jazz players to create an auditory journey that will ignite the soul and move the body. Exploring genres such as Afrobeat, bbq jazz, funk, hip hop, and soul the Liquid Lounge experience is the perfect recipe to light up your week. you will hear anything from Herbie Hancock to The Roots, Fela Kuti to D’angelo. For almost 2 decades Boa has steeped himself in funk, jam and soul music on the north-coast leading bands such as Afromassive, Moogot2, and Sun Hop Fat, as well as touring with Vinyl, The Monophonics, Polyrhythmics, and Lafa Taylor. Bringing a unique and psychedelic sound to his tenor and Baritone saxophone, Boa and his crew will take you on a sonic journey that is exciting and will leave you wanting more. Light the Band LIGHT theBand, from Santa Cruz, California, is the next monster in the next wave of next level funk rage. Logan Tyler (drums, vocals) Dan Guzman (guitar, vocals) James Tashnick (bass, vocals) and Tim Gan (guitar, vocals) are improvisational, face melting, and always funky, mixing a high degree of musicianship with straight up rage. Together since only November of 2013, Light The Band displays a symbiosis far beyond their age. Working off mostly band-written originals, LIGHT theBand, uses form as a way to break it.
