Cheetah Live! How to Save an Endangered Species

SEE EVENT DETAILS
FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY -- Dr. Laurie Marker, foremost conservation biologist, cheetah expert and author is traveling more than 9,500 miles from her home in Africa to share the fascinating story of how a winemaker from Oregon moved to Africa 24 years ago to save the wild cheetah, restore its habitat and change the world. Dr. Marker will be assisted by her cheetah friend Themba, a four year-old male ambassador cheetah from The Wild Cat Education & Conservation Fund in Occidental, Calif.

Dr. Marker will autograph copies of her new book following the presentation, A Future for Cheetahs. Dr. Marker is the Founder and Executive Director of Cheetah Conservation Fund in Otjiwarongo, Namibia.

This entertaining, consciousness-raising event includes a silent auction, live music, wine tasting from The Mountain Winery’s Estate Series, delicious food served al fresco and a no host bar -- plus the opportunity to meet a real, LIVE cheetah! Entertainment will be provided by popular Bay Area jazz guitarist Ed Johnson; the dynamic acoustic jazz guitar duo of Michael Simpson and Kamlapati Khalsa; with a performance of “Dance with the Cheetahs,” an original song by 13 year-old singer-songwriter Paris Shewfelt of Boulder Creek.

Tickets are $125 per adult; $75 for students 13 to 20; $50 for children under 13.
Parking is FREE.
