The Academy of Ballet welcomes all to the Spring Student Demonstration. These performances are an opportunity to see what the students have accomplished in the past year as well as a wonderful chance for the students to appear on stage, which is an important part of their training. This part of the program shows the students in their class work, demonstrating their development through the different levels. It also shows Level V and Level VI students in a choreographed piece. Some Level VI students appear with Chamberdance in the second half of the program.
An important part of advanced training in classical ballet is learning repertoire pieces and performing them for an audience. Richard Gibson and Zory Karah have created Chamberdance for this purpose. Classical ballet training prepares the dancer to perform in a variety of styles and the repertoire is planned with that in mind. All of the young dancers in Chamberdance's performances are dedicated, disciplined, and willing.
The program includes: Academy of Ballet Demonstrations for Pre-Ballet -- Level VI, "Pas de Quatre" from Swan Lake, and premieres by Mary Ellen Hunt and Joshua Trader.

Sunday, June 14, 3:00 p.m.
