| Description The Centennial Taste and Tour of Albany will be a historic extravaganza of food, drink, history, bands, and fun for locals and visitors to the city. The Albany Chamber of Commerce is selling a limited number of $10 tickets at their offices at 1108 Solano Avenue through May 29. Tickets are also available online at TasteofAlbany.com.
Each ticket may be redeemed the day of the event for a “passport”. The passport gives the holder a tasting at each of the five participating restaurants, a map for a self guided tour around city, and a historical scavenger hunt questions. For those who do not purchase a ticket, the city will also be filled with a number of free activities as well. Two live bands will be playing at the lot on Solano Avenue west of the Sofia’s café between Masonic and Evelyn. Children’s arts and games will be setup near Cornell School, which is also 100 years old in 2008. In addition, there will be a fire truck and historic firefighting information. |
