Description
ABOUT DJ ROOZ:
Rooz is a DJ, promoter, and major advocate of underground electronic music in San Francisco, known as one of SF’s premier and well respected DJs. With regular residencies and appearances at San Francisco’s top nightclubs since 1999, Rooz has established himself as a fixture in the underground electronic music scene. In 2008 Rooz was voted #7 DJ in SF on NiteVibe’s DJ Dream Team pole (djdreamteam.com), a short list of SF’s dance music pioneers like Mark Farina, Miguel Migs, Kaskade and Bassnectar. You can catch Rooz’s set along with world famous DJs at SF’s top nightclubs such as RubySkye, Mighty, supperclub, EndUp, Mezzanine and 1015 Folsom. Rooz is also well known for his late night after-hours sets at underground warehouse parties across SF.

Starting out in the club scene in 1998 as a promoter at San Francisco’s club X, the main reason why Rooz became dj was so that he could play the music that he wanted to hear at his own events. “I knew exactly what the club heads wanted to hear, what made them move and what made them jump”. Rooz believed that this way he wouldn't have to try so hard to find the right dj that could produce the right vibe. In 1999 Rooz and Misha Vladimirsky partnered up to and started Paradox Entertainment. Paradox's success lead to three new events and Rooz now had four residencies: Detour @ the LimeLite, a rockin Tuesday night event that drew a crowd of 1000 clubbers every night, Glow Sunday nights @ the LimeLite in MV. And the Infamous Friday night monthly underground party Re-Cycle @ Space 550 in SF, where thousands gathered to hear some of worlds most famous dj’s like Armand Van Heldon, Keoki, Donald Glaude and Hippe & Halo perform. By 2003 Rooz took his underground style of progressive & tech house to another level and had played at almost all SF night clubs. At that time he had residencies at “Loud” Saturday nights @ Ruby Skye and Headlining in the house room at Spundae’s world famous weekly Friday event “Sonic” @ 1015 Folsom. After the the End of Paradox, Rooz joined forces with the world famous promoters, Spundae. Taking SF by storm Spundae continued to flourish as SF's number 1 nightclub experience. With his new home Rooz continued to throw events and rock crowds of over a thousand playing at events with some of worlds most famous dj’s and producers like Sasha, Tiesto, Seb Fontaine, Steve Lawler, BT, Ferry Corsten, Derrick Carter, Nick Warren, Max Graham, and more!

Rooz’s unique style of mixing deep celestial progressive with tribal/tech and “Nu Skool” breaks always brings fresh new sounds to music lovers all over the world. His sets are unique and the experience is memorable. Today Rooz has partnered up with Back2Basics-sf Founder to create "R-Squared", at tag team collaboration of retro-prog and funky tribal. With his newest success Rooz is throwing "Retro-Drum" with SF's only ongoing electro tech house party @ Anu.
With new residency at Bambuddha Lounge and frequent visits to Mezzanine and 1015, life seems to move smoothly to sound of music.

ABOUT THE WHOOLIGAN:
“Futuristicsoulsexygalacticghettotechtronicboombap” is the only way to describe the beguiling musical potions of Julio “The Whooligan” Galvez. He is a musical chemist…concocting beats as a producer and experimenting with their reactive characteristics as a DJ. There are no test tubes and chemicals in this beat doctor’s lab; the tools of choice for his brand of science are an MPC and a wantonly obese record collection. His laboratory varies: one day he’s locked away in the studio composing musical Monet’s and collaborating with the world’s hottest artists; the next, he’s likely to be found spinning records, garnering media honors and leaving everyone salivating for more at any of the hottest venues around the country.

What began as a pastime, listening to music and learning about different styles in his hometown in California’s East Bay, turned into a fascination. Like all great artists, that fascination soon morphed into a passion; the passion was honed into a skill and the rest is history. Today, The Whooligan is an intricate part of the Bay Area’s music scene and undeniable flair for his craft along with an impressive work ethic have quickly gained him fans and respect beyond his native soil, as demonstrated by his  #4 ranking in Music Culture Today Magazine’s Top 10 Favorite DJ Sets from the 2009 Winter Music Conference in Miami, FL.

Tours sponsored by industry powerhouses such as MTV, Island Def Jam and Sony, and with artists such as Bugz In The Attic, Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, and Diplo, to name a few, have secured The Whooligan’s standing as one of the most hard-working and respected selectors on the West Coast. To witness The Whooligan in action on the turntables at a party or in a club is to be invited into his world for a musical journey that simultaneously entertains and enlightens, indulging the senses and issuing only one command: Dance.

ABOUT EVE:
Bringing together music from San Francisco’s finest DJs and a piquant cocktail list to delight the senses. Plenty of plush banquette seating surrounds EVE’s curves. Roaring Twenties inspired artwork by local artists adorn the walls. Peep show movies play on the partition window that separates the lounge from the dance floor. Eve is an excellent happy hour spot to relax with friends during the day and dynamic place to party during the nights and weekends.
