THIS EVENT HAS ENDED
When Carol Peters began singing professionally 12 years ago, her friend Denise Perrier advised her, “Don’t sing too many ballads and keep your original songs to a minimum.” For years that is the way she entertained. But ballads that tell stories, always spoke to her. In 2014, she wrote, produced and performed her new show, Ballads for a Lifetime. The show was a hit, receiving great reviews. She welcomes the chance to share this intimate, expressive show where you listen to the standard ballads you love, some original tunes and the engaging stories that connect her to the music she loves.

Carol has worked with many talented Bay Area musicians but now has settled on a stellar, seasoned and compatible group of players, she calls The Retrofits. The name reflects Carol’s interest in presenting contemporary versions of standard songs. Led by versatile Musical Director and pianist Sue Crosman, bass/guitarist/composer Eric Vogler, jazz violinist Benito Cortez and percussionist Steve La Porta provide clockwork accompaniment and engaging solos.
