The 101-year-old California Writers Club (CWC) hosts a number of programs and events throughout the state. The CWC, Berkeley Branch, is the founding branch. It offers meetings, critique/Support groups, and special events in Alameda, Berkeley, Oakland, and other inner East Bay cities.
Free, open-to-the-public speaker programs are held the third Sunday afternoon at the main Oakland Libriary. Critique/Support groups meet in several cities. Some are genre-specific, others are not. The flagship group meets at the Rockridge Library the third Saturday of each month, 1-5 pm. Mini-wiriting workshops are held in Alameda on the second Sunday; a small fee is collected.
Go to www.calwriters.org for links to all the CWC branches and to www.cwcnorcalwriters.org for a comprehensive listing of programs and events in Northeren California.
