The climate on climate is getting sunnier, and momentum is building: The US and China cut a historic climate deal. The US EPA will soon issue groundbreaking pollution standards on power plants. And California’s trailblazing cap-and-trade market is thriving as the CA economy grows faster than the rest of the U.S. Many eyes are turning to the U.N meetings in Paris at the end of this year as a key milestone, but Paris is just one stop on a long journey, and the U.N. is but one forum of many where progress can happen. Please join Environmental Defense Fund Associate Vice President Derek Walker for a lively discussion of how all these pieces fit together and what EDF’s role is in the broad movement for action on global climate change.
Wine and cheese will be provided, and this event is free of charge and open to the public. There will also be an opportunity to write a letter to Governor Jerry Brown in support of California's long term climate change and clean energy agenda. Please RSVP to Eric at
[email protected] so your name is on the list for building security.
This is part of a series of social and educational events in San Francisco organized under the EDF Ambassador program. For more information on who we are and how to join our community, see http://ambassadors.edf.org/.
