Hosted by Maia Hirschbein, this workshop will address diverse aspects of California olive oil, including history, varietals, flavor profiles, palate development, and purchasing and storage. There will be a guided tasting followed by a reception with light bites and an opportunity to purchase at least a few of the oils from CUESA’s favorite producers.
Maia Hirschbein holds a Masters in Food Culture and Communications from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Piedmont, Italy. As part of her Masters research, Maia completed a comprehensive study of California olive oil. Maia leads olive oil education programming and research with chefs for California Olive Ranch.
