10th annual California Cup to be held January 29th – 31st
Fremont, CA – San Francisco CalHeat Team Handball Club is proud to host its 10th annual Team Handball Invitational Tournament, the California Cup, on January 29th, 30th and 31st 2016, in Centerville Junior High School. Games will start on the Friday evening, and the tournament will go on until the finals on the Sunday afternoon.
Over the past decade, the CalCup has become a major event for the Western Team Handball League, and this tournament is also sanctioned by the USATH (member of USOC). Women’s teams from SF CalHeat THC, Los Angeles-Baja, West Point Military Academy and Chicago Inter HC, as well as men’s teams from SF CalHeat THC, US Air Force Academy, West Point Military Academy, Los Angeles THC, Chicago Inter HC, ASU THC and Portland Sasquatch will compete to get the coveted awards of winning team, most valuable player and goal keeper, and top scorer. Both 2015 winning team (Chicago Inter HC for the men’s division, and San Francisco CalHeat THC for the women’s division) will be defending their titles.
We hope to see a lot of fans of the sport at the venue (37772 Fremont Blvd, Fremont CA-94536), but we will also be thrilled to see people who are not familiar with this intense and fun team sport to show what it is about.
