Description

BRINK: Other-Minded Music, a new monthly concert series by Other Minds, presents performances by Bay Area artist Celeste Hutchins and Japanese artist Tokyo Nammy.

Celeste Hutchins, who believes that progressive politics and experimental music are natural allies, will perform new politically-themed text sound poetry with laptop music in just intonation, including "Rush to Excuse" (with the voice of Rush Limbaugh) and "Lock Up Your Children" (with the voice of Bill O'Reilly).

Tokyo Nammy (a.k.a. Nami Sagara, founder and lead singer of The Eccentric Opera) will perform her own unique vocal work in an ensemble featuring herself (voice, keyboard, percussion), Shoko Hikage (koto, percussion, and voice), and electronic musician Tim Perkis. Music Works calls Tokyo Nammy “an exercise in vocal madness.”
