Sang Matiz is a Bay Area band that brings mostly original repertoire characterized by World and Afro-Brazilian/Peruvian beats; fused with contemporary rhythms such as Pop, Reggae, Jazz and Funk.
They had the honor to open for the Legendary "Buena Vista Social Club Orchestra" from Cuba in 2015 and most recently for the great Latin band "Ozomatli" from LA.

It is the local chapter of Batala Mundo, founded in 1997 by Brazilian percussionist Giba Goncalves and currently numbering more than 1000 drummers in more than 30 international groups.
