Founded by Ruth Braunstein in 1961, the Braunstein/Quay Gallery moved to its current location at 430 Clementina in 1999.
Recognized as a "cross over" gallery, Braunstein/Quay Gallery was one of the first in the nation to exhibit sculptural clay, fiber art, art furniture, and glass alongside paintings, drawings, and sculpture in a fine arts environment. The gallery's reputation is based on discovering and promoting Bay Area regional artistic talent along with providing quality art for private, corporate, and museum collections.
The ACCESS Program was initiated in 1988 in an effort to continue to support and encourage artists who, while working at a high level, have yet to affiliate with a gallery in San Francisco. The ACCESS program continues to be an exciting venue for artists and collectors alike.
