What is a better introduction to Spring than dozens of stunning, elaborate floral arrangements displayed in a dramatic museum setting? And what better way to see the new de Young than when the museum is filled with Bouquets to Art?
This eagerly awaited annual event, now in its 22nd season, features the work of one hundred and thirty noted Bay Area florists, designers and garden clubs. Each participant selects a painting or sculpture from the de Young in advance, and creates a floral design related to the artwork or setting. More than 25,000 visitors delight in the week-long visual feast each year.
The Opening Night Gala on March 20th offers you first peek at the spectacular displays of flowers arranged throughout the galleries. The following five days feature demonstration programs by renowned floral designers, restaurant style luncheons and a benefit drawing. All proceeds support the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
