Peninsula Women’s Caucus for Art Exhibition – Boundaries

The universe is defined by boundaries. Where is the boundary of the universe? What is it? What are your personal boundaries? Where are your artistic boundaries? Peninsula Women’s Caucus artists consider Boundaries in this Coastal Art League Gallery and Museum exhibit. Included works are by Lorraine Capparell, Cosette Dudley, Serene Flax, Kris Idarius, Annamaria Kusber, Barbara Lambert, Rebecca Lambing, Marie LaPrade, Tanya Lin, Nancee McDonell, Alysanne McGaffey, Kim Nelson, Yvonne Newhouse, Janette Sacco-Belli, Bonnie Smith, Francine Survilo, Deanna Taubman, Leigh Toldi, Annette Wagner, Nancy Woods and Marian Yap.

In her painting Exodus Marian Yap considers “the biblical activism of people seeking their own boundaries to live in freedom”.

Alysanne McGaffey examines Boundaries of the Soul citing a Joseph Campbell poem The Old Woman “As a white candle in a holy place, So is the beauty of an aged face.” to describe her painting.

About the Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA)
Founded in 1972 in connection with the College Art Association (CAA). It is a national member organization unique in its multi-disciplinary, multicultural membership of artists, art historians, students, educators, and museum professionals. WCA is committed to recognizing the contribution of women in the arts, providing women with leadership opportunities and professional development, expanding networking and exhibition opportunities for women, supporting local, national and global art activism and advocating for equity in the arts for all.
The Peninsula Chapter of WCA concentrates on providing exhibition opportunities for women artists, sharing resources and educational networking. For information: http://www.wcapeninsula.org/

This exhibition will be on view August 21 – September 20, 2015 at the Coastal Art League Gallery and Museum , 300 Main Street, Half Moon Bay, CA, with an artist’s reception August 22, 5 - 7 pm. Gallery hours are Thurs – Mon 12 – 5 pm. For additional information visit https://www.wcapeninsula.org.
