Exhibition Dates: July 12 – September 6, 2015
From 16th Century Flemish painters, to Cézanne and the Post Impressionists, the color, variety, and potent symbolism found in plant life has made it a popular subject for still-lifes and artist studies. BOTANICA: All Things Plant Life features a roster of over 100 artists drawing on these themes to create artwork that explores how plant life can be represented in a diverse reach of media.
The exhibition was juried by Ken Harman of Hashimoto Contemporary and Spoke Art in San Francisco and MacKenzie Stevens of the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
Opening Reception: Sunday July 12, 2015, 3:00 – 5:00pm
$5 Admission, wine and hors d'oeuvres hosted by the Bedford Gallery Guild.
Gallery Hours: Tue – Sun, 12:00 – 5:00pm, 6:00-8:00pm when there are evening performances in the Lesher Center for the Arts
