There is nothing Bootie loves more than the musical culture-clash that mashups make possible. And nowhere is that more evident than in mashups that use artists from different decades, in order to create brand-new music that you’ve almost, but not quite, heard before! Resident DJs A Plus D and Tripp mix and mash music from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s, and NOW -- paying homage to the originals while keeping the music fresh in an epic multi-decade mashup smackdown! At 11 PM, Smash-Up Derby takes to the stage for a special live multi-decade mashup rock show, while aerialist Jem performs above the crowd for the Midnight Mashup Show.
In the Loft, it’s BoomSwing Cabaret, as DJs JsinJ and Jazzy Fox combine the timeless sound of big band swing with the fresh, electrifying sound of booming club music, joined for special live performances throughout the night by Mojo DeVille and more! Plus, in the Lounge, it’s Cirque du Cliché, as Airsun and Entyme spin music guaranteed to keep your happy feet bouncing across the dance floor. And in the Dazzle Room, it’s Blackout, as Mario Muse and Adrienne Scissorhands spin post-punk, indie, and new wave!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Voted "Best Club Night" for the past nine years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations. Mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party, it's a place where everyone is welcome.
