Nell Zink presents Nicotine, a fierce and funny novel of family, obsession, and Baby Boomer idealism. Business-minded Penny Baker has rebelled against her bohemian family her whole life—until she inherits her father’s childhood home and the cadre of anarchist squatters who currently inhabit it. Penny finds herself unexpectedly charmed by their passion and politics, and quickly becomes a part of their fringe community as they battle for the right to exist. But when Penny’s old family comes knocking, Penny must brave the clash of generations, classes, and belief systems in this riotous yet tender novel that brilliantly encapsulates our time.
Bonus: Nell Zink's other new novel, Private Novelist, will be available as well.
