Let the good times roll! The Black and White Ball® features Tony Bennett and k.d. lang in concert at Davies Symphony Hall, Kool & The Gang headlining the street party, and multiple bands on five stages throughout three historic War Memorial Arts buildings and closed-off streets in the Civic Center area. All Ball-goers will enjoy signature cocktails, wines and bubbly, late-night bites by the city's premier catering team, McCall Associates—and, of course, dancing!
Proceeds from Black & White Ball will benefit Adventures in Music, the San Francisco Symphony's nationally recognized education program that brings music into the lives of every 1st through 5th grade student in San Francisco's public schools.
Tony Bennett and k.d. lang in concert (at 8 pm); post-concert party headliners Kool & The Gang; two-time Grammy-nominated Afro-Cuban ensemble Tiempo Libre in the Opera House lobby; the illustrious Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra; hip hop/R&B songstress Faith Evans; all-star jam band Moonalice; retro-swingers Royal Crown Revue; nine-piece salsa band Candela; California surf band Papa Doo Run Run; Foreverland, a musical tribute to Michael Jackson; and all-female Led Zeppelin tribute band Zepparella. The Party Pass gets you into the Black & White Ball from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Fans will find Kool & The Gang and the Build Your Own Ball DJ at the Van Ness Main Stage. Tiempo Libre and Candela will light up the Opera House Lobby. The big band sounds of the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and Royal Crown Revue will emanate from the Big Band Big Top. Moonalice and Faith Evans will keep things jumping in the Veterans Building Lobby. Papa Doo Run Run, Foreverland: A Musical Tribute to Michael Jackson, and Zepparella will channel their idols from the Opera House Café. And the Bay Area DJ that wins the Build Your Own Ball main stage slot will open up for Kool & The Gang.
