The 1st birthday, or "DOHL" in Korean culture, celebrates a right of passage; it symbolizes marking it thru the hardships of starting something new while being totally vulnerable, innocently naive, and in harm's way while trying to build an identity. A year ago, if you had told us it would come this far, bring together this many people, that the vibes would be this thick, that it would feel so damn right....we wouldn't have been able to dream this big. Thank you, to each and every one of you who have lifted us up and pushed us to reach for our greatness. We look forward to you celebrating with us on this momentous occasion...it's the ultimate affirmation to the community we've built and how many people believe in what we're doing.
This anniversary dinner is a mashup of our favorite dishes from this last year. It's a meal that's familiar yet offbeat; when nostalgia becomes past and present. Comfort food fit for a celebration amongst those we love most, a homecoming after a long journey away, or simply, to soothe all those cravings we feel when missing the comforts of the things that draw us back to where we came from. The destination of being at the right place at the right time. -a night that can never be recreated even if we tried.
