Bicycle Music Festival VII

The 7th annual San Francisco Bicycle Music Festival on June 22, 2013 is the world’s largest human-powered mobile music festival that’s 100% powered by bicycles (it’s a 14-bike pedal powered stage) and takes you to two different locations for two different mini bicycle festivals.

After setting up for a five hour music festival in Golden Gate Park, the entire festival (that’s the stage, speakers, the musicians and the fans) packs up and sets off on a bicycle music parade through the city (5p to 6p) and land in the Mission where they dream it all up again for a three-hour night-time concert

Noon to 5pm – Golden Gate Park
Near the old log cabin meadow, just north of Stow Lake near where 16th Ave. would cross JFK Drive

- Bill McKibben – America’s leading environmentalist and the founder of 350.0rg
- Justin Ancheta Band – Rocks conscious reggae-flavored funkiness, and gets the people moving.
- Manicato – Mission District band mixes: Puerto Rican plena, reggae, rock, and hip hop
- John Craigie – Beloved folksinger of the open road
- Heather Normandale – Has bicycled the world sharing her river-like indie/world/folk songs.

- Uriah Duffy – lauded bassist for folks such as: Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Sly & the Family Stone, and Whitesnake, performing a set of virtuosic and stanky solo bass (uriahduffy.com).
- CelloJoe – the wildest beat-boxin,’ electronic looping, and bike touring cellist in the West (cellojoe.com).

5pm to 6pm – LiveOnBike Parade
A full on bike parade rolling across the city from Golden Gate Park to Mission District.
- Live music on wheels from Jason Brock – San Francisco’s own fabulous golden-voiced glitter explosion – finalist of TV’s: The X Factor.


6pm to 9pm – Mission District Street Party
Bartlett St @ 22nd St – next to the Revolution Cafe

- Earth Amplified – Oakland-based green hip-hop phenoms
- The Seshen – Oakland mix of electronic music, pop, R&B, dub, and indie.

- Classical Revolution – The original SF group high quality chamber music to non-traditional settings.
- Shredder – a spectacular aerialist who performs with Vau de Vire society. She’ll perform on her glowing aerial hoop from a branch of El Arbol – the tree bike.
