Beyond The End of the Trail: American Indians and the PPIE

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Many Americans easily recognize James Earle Fraser's famous statue, The End of the Trail, which first appeared at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. But despite its popularity, the statue does not accurately represent the participation of American Indians in the fair. Professor and Historian, Abigail Markwyn will discuss this history and dive more deeply into how Native Americans were presented and represented at the PPIE.
