Beginner / Intermediate Full Spectrum Improvisation Class

This is the first in a series of five classes of Full Spectrum Improvisation offered by Joya Cory. Please reserve your spot through Joya's website!

Taught in a supportive atmosphere, this training releases powerful creative energy, imagination and natural spontaneity. Beyond comedy "Improv", Full Spectrum training activates full emotional and physical range to create Improvisational Theatre of authenticity and substance, as well as joyful, intoxicating play.

Classes include expressive movement and voice, theatre games, storytelling, acting technique & discovering personal material. Make peace with your inner critic Learn to trust your intuition Develop confidence and ease Practice connecting/collaborating with others.

Beginner/Intermediate level focuses on personal growth, skill building and fun. No experience needed. Tired of letting your fear squelch your natural creativity and spontaneity ? This class is a safe place to expand your range of self expression. Very useful public speaking and foundation performance training. Expect to be inspired.

Saturdays, 2:30-5:30 pm
5 week Beginner/Intermediate session: $190.

In SAN FRANCISCO at our interim studio:
Studio 204 in the old Sears building at
3435 Caesar Chavez St and Valencia St


JOYA CORY has been performing since 1971. She is the creator of numerous original theatre pieces, acts, directs & teaches in a wide variety of venues and has taught Full Spectrum Improvisation (a form she developed) to all kinds of folks, including actors, non-actors, therapists, teachers & public speakers. Her work has been recognized with grants from the California Arts Council, in addition to other grants and awards.

Joya created her solo pieces MY FATHER'S CHAIR, IRMA AT THE MOVIES, BILE, ANNIVERSARY WALTZ, & THE DALAI LAMA DOESN'T NEED A FACE LIFT through an experimental process based on improvisational story telling to generate material and writing and acting technique to develop a well crafted, scripted piece. She won BEST OF SF FRINGE FESTIVAL 2010 for her solo work. She is a dedicated and innovative teacher.
