BE CALM HONCHO (record release party)

Be Calm Honcho is a quartet of sugared, salty hams, living in San Francisco with a lumpy lunch sack of strange strengths. Born on the eve of 2013, Shannon, Alex, Mikey & Jacob have been tenderly prying open the soft spots of rock ‘n’ roll and inserting a dreamy and toothsome rawness. They’ve pooled their geographic wizardry from the idle bayous of Lafayette, LA [Jacob], citrus groves and strip malls of the San Fernando Valley [Alex] and the lush Bay Area motherboard [Shannon & Mikey], and are now ramping up to the release of their first full-length album titled Honcho Dreams, which is set to be released on Crossbill Records this Summer.

THE SHE'S

The She’s are born and bred San Francisco gals who create garage-pop beachy tunes that make you want to fast forward to summer. The group is lead by vocalist Hannah Valente, harmonized by guitarist Eva Treadway, and perfected by drummer Sinclair Riley and bassist Sami Perez. Since emerging into the tightly-knit San Francisco music scene, The She’s garnered a ton of success early on. They were included in The San Francisco Guardian’s “Bands On The Rise,” and hold recurring features on The Bay Bridged. Since their inception, they’ve been frequently invited to play at most well-known San Francisco venues, opening for bands like Girls, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, and Yuck.

The She’s are more than just your average girl band. These talented BFFs have been playing music together since elementary school-and their closeness shines through in their perfectly tuned three part harmonies. With songs about hanging out, love, and dreaming about boys, these ladies are a swoon-worthy bunch who can make anyone feel giddy. The She’s most recently released a lo-fi ’60s-inspired album- Then It Starts to Feel Like Summer, and are back with a more mature and nuanced release to bring you right back to that sandy place in your daydreams.

"Sun-dazed harmonies, tight, toe-tapping rhythms and the kind of beachy pop you’d listen to in a convertible on vacation.” –7×7 Magazine

Owl Paws

Hailing from the foggy city of San Francisco, Owl Paws, brain child of Derek Schultz, began as a solo recording project in 2010. Soon thereafter, a trio formed featuring Timothy Vickers and Lucas Siobal. Complete with dreamy song-scapes, acoustic sonority, haunting harmony, lyrical honesty and a dynamic rythhm section, the band has created a sound that is distinctive and captivating - a uniqueness that rests in their cross-genre experimentation and a willingness to push musical boundaries. Unafraid to explore new frontiers in live music, they've performed on public transit, in caves, in clubs and in living rooms all over the West Coast. Their fourth official release will be available in mid 2014.

"A collection of experimental folk ballads that are accentuated by the heartfelt, somberly attractive voice of Derek Schultz who sings songs that tell stories of heartbreak and quiet sorrow on this new album." --Deli Magazine
