Bay Area Cabaret kicks off their 2016/2017 Season with the highly anticipated Bay Area concert debut of one of Broadway’s brightest stars, Kelli O’Hara. In 2015, Ms. O’Hara won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, in the critically acclaimed revival of The King and I - having been nominated for five additional Tony awards for her starring roles in South Pacific, The Light In The Piazza, The Pajama Game (opposite Harry Connick, Jr.), The Bridges of Madison County, and Nice Work If You Can Get It.
The New York Times called her “one of our greatest reinterpreters of musical standards." TV audiences know Ms. O’Hara as Mrs. Darling in NBC’s live telecast of Peter Pan, and her performances on the Kennedy Honors tributes for Barbara Cook, Jerry Herman and Barbra Streisand.
In June, Ms. O'Hara joined dozens of Broadway's biggest stars to record "What the World Needs Now Is Love", as Broadway For Orlando. Honoring and benefiting the victims of the Orlando nightclub tragedy, the single shot to #1 on the iTunes charts.
