Battlehooch

Battlehooch's avant-garde approach to pop music will certainly turn some heads. Inspired by psychedelica and chamber pop, the San Francisco six-piece play with a sense of reckless abandon, harnessed in an acid haze of pop guitar riffs, synthesizer experimentation and gorgeous harmonies. At times, Battlehooch sounds like the strange sonic dragon that psychedelic icons like Jim Morrison were only ever able to hint at--a sound so eclectic and challenging that it takes pop music to its natural extremes. Los Angeles-based psychedelic and chamber-pop duo Moon Honey shares the bill.
